Defense:
SIIC utilizes a network of attorneys experienced in the scaffold
industry. We audit many of their bills to reduce costs.
SIAI:
The SIA Insurance Company (Risk Retention Group) Ltd (SIAI) was
started by members of the Scaffold Industry Association in 1978.
It shares the risk as the reinsurer of SIIC on each insurance
policy.
Reinsurers:
These are insurance companies that provide insurance to SIAI and
SIIC. The list of reinsurance carriers that support SIIC/SIAI
changes slightly every year but the lead reinsurer is a Lloyds
syndicate that has been the same lead reinsurer for the past 17
years. It is owned by Berkshire Hathaway, an insurance company
run by Warren Buffet.
